Eight Electrolux Design Lab finalists offer future living solutions.
The 2010 edition of the Electrolux Design Lab competition focuses on creative solutions for compact living. The 2010 brief asked industrial design students to consider how people will prepare and store food, wash clothes, and do dishes in the homes of 2050, when 74%* of the global population are predicted to live in an urban environment. The eight finalists for the 2010 Electrolux Design Lab competition will be announced on Wednesday 14th July. The announcement will be accompanied with professionally rendered images of each concept and a three minute animation to show each design in the context of the future home. The Design Hub Barcelona recently opened their exhibition ‘Full Print3d – Printing Objects’ (16.06.2010 – to 29.05.2011). This three-dimensional printing exhibition includes Electrolux Design Lab 2009 finalist concept, ‘Moléculaire’ – the molecular food printer.
